Yesterday in the 30th match of IPL 2024 between RCB and SRH, Pat Cummins led SRH scored the highest ever team total in IPL, breaking their own record 277!

In a high-voltage encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Faf Du Plessis, after winning the toss, opted to bowl first. SRH's openers wasted no time in launching an assault on the bowlers, smashing boundaries at will. Within the powerplay, they amassed a staggering 76 runs, with Travis Head reaching his half-century.

2. Relentless Assault Continues:

Even beyond the powerplay, SRH's run-scoring rate showed no signs of abating. Head, in particular, blazed his way to a century, marking the fourth fastest hundred in IPL history. Despite his dismissal soon after, the onslaught continued as Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen joined forces to propel SRH's total to an unprecedented 287 runs, setting a new record in IPL history.

3. RCB's Aggressive Response:

Facing the daunting task of chasing down a mammoth total, RCB's openers launched a spirited counterattack. Their aggressive approach saw them pile on the runs, reaching 79-0 by the end of the powerplay. However, Virat Kohli's dismissal triggered a collapse, with RCB losing wickets at regular intervals.

4. Dinesh Karthik's Heroics:

Despite the setbacks, RCB's wicketkeeper-batsman, Dinesh Karthik, played a stellar innings, scoring a blistering 83 runs off just 35 balls. His valiant effort, supported by contributions from the lower-middle order, kept RCB in the hunt.

5. SRH Emerges Victorious:

In the end, RCB fell short by 25 runs, with SRH emerging victorious in the run-fest. The win propelled SRH to fourth place in the points table, while RCB's playoff hopes suffered a setback, having lost six out of their seven games.

6. Playoff Hopes for RCB:

With the playoffs now a distant target, RCB faces an uphill battle, needing to win at least six of their remaining seven games to stay in contention for a playoff spot.
